Firstly, I'll admit that I rented this film on the purely superficial and shallow basis that Charlize Theron looked brilliant in the promotional pics and trailers for this film. Synopsis In the 21st century (2011) 90 per cent of human population is wiped out from a virus, remaining 10 percent built a city where they live. The film is actually set 400 years in the future from 2011. The city they live in is Bregna. It is ruled by a group of scientists. Some of the citizens form an anti group to the rulers. Aeon Flux is the assassin of this group. She is entrusted with a top class assignment to assassinate the current ruler. Promising plot but it fails to deliver really. Aeon Flux. It’s very rare that I see a film I hate (only Cutthroat Island and Battlefield Earth have ever received one star from me), but in this absolutely awful sci-fi action flick, we have another. Maybe the fact that I had just seen the brilliant Crash biased my judgement, but I couldn’t help feeling that in the same day I had watched the best and worst film of the last year.
