Very few movies this old are still as fresh and funny as Airplane. Born of the Police Squad series type of humor (and the same actors), Airplane uses puns, one-liners, and slapstick to deliver one hilarious movie. They managed to get big names outside of acting to join in-- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, one of the most famous basketball players ever and current holder of the highest point total in NBA history, was one of the pilots. This paved the way for people like OJ Simpson to act in the Naked Gun movies.

I haven't yet met anyone who did not like this movie. If you haven't seen it, rent it immediately. And don't call me Shirley.
