This was once again one of those films left looking very alone in the rental shop so I decided to give it a chance and though I'm really glad I did I can definately see that it's not to everyones taste. The story is about Alex (Luke Wilson who I always enjoy watching) a writer who has got himself into some debt and the only way he can pay off the loan sharks who visit him is by writing another great novel but they destroy his laptop and so Alex decides to hire a stenographer who can take his notes and help him write his story in the thirty days. The basic story... Alex Sheldon (Luke Wilson) has a massive gambling problem that has left him with a debt to the maffia of $100,000. His only possible way out is to write a book within 30 days and sell it to his publisher for $125,000. This however is greatly afflicted by two things, firstly the maffia tossed his laptop into the fire and secondly, he has writters block. It seems to Alex that the only solution to this new problem is to hire a stenographer under the guise of a law firm.
