You could make a very good case for saying Alfred Hitchcock is the greatest British filmmaker there has ever been, with a career spanning more than 50 years and having made 67 feature films producing a definitive collection of the best of his work is going to be an almost impossible task. This collection tries to do just that and at the very least whilst not being definitive of his extraordinary mass of work does represent a good cross-section of his filmmaking career. THE FILMS The box set includes the following films Saboteur (1942) Shadow of a Doubt (1943) Rope (1948) Rear Window (1954) The Trouble with Harry ... Read the complete review

The complete list is: - Vertigo - The Birds - Rear Window - Marnie - Frenzy - Topaz - The Trouble With Harry - Torn Curtain - Psycho - Family Plot - Saboteur - Shadow Of A Doubt - Man Who Knew Too Much - Rope It's a sizeable collection, and perhaps most impressive is the inclusion of the minor Hitchcock film Rope, which is in my opinion one of Hitch's best films, both as a tremendous stylistic triumph, and a ... While I was browsing the shelves in HMV one Sunday, my eye glimpsed the name Hitchcock and a pink £20 sticker. I checked back to see if my brain had made an error but was pleased to see it had not. Boxset down from £49.99 to £20! I had been stating for a long while that I was going to start watching and collecting old films instead of giving into todays blockbusters, which are sometimes, to be honest, dull and repetitive. I remember my Grandmother watching his films with appreciation, never looking away once. Growing up I picked the knowledge of the famous Psycho shower-scene which intrigued me and my mother always sprouting his legacy ... Read the complete review
