... lot more watchable than I was expecting, that's for sure! Ray Santilli (Declan Donnelly) and his mate Gary Shoefield (Ant McPartlin) are two antique collectors who look for old film footage that they can sell for a bomb back in the UK. They are invited to the states to observe a video supposedly recorded in 1947 which depcits the autopsy of an alien that is assumed to have been killed in a UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico. They need to pony up $30,000 to buy the film, and find an investor in Laszlo Voros, who is o...more

Premium Review Alien Autopsy (DVD): There's an alien with it's a*** in my sisters kitchen sink! (1145 words)

Rating:

In general I love Ant and Dec - I don't know if it's because I'm from Newcastle or because my sisters obsession with them has rubbed off on me a bit! When I heard they were releasing a film however, I wasn't sure what to think. Fair enough, they did some acting on Byker Grove, but there was a kid in my class who was on that, and he got the job because his sister was part of the production crew, not because of any sort of acting ability. I also saw their Likely Lads remake, which had the potential to be brilliant, but which, I thought, turned out to be quite flat. ~The Plot~ The film is based on the true story of Ray Santilli and Gary Shoefield, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ant and Dec go back to acting (473 words)
by - written on 20/01/08 (Very useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

A film starring Ant and Dec didn't at first sound very appealing to me, I thought it would be hard for them to be credible actors. The film is actually based on a true story, when two people claimed that they had footage of the 1947 Roswell incident, when it was claimed that the US army did an autopsy on an alien body. I was pleasantly surprised at the film, it might not go down as a film classic, but I found it a credible and well-paced telling of the story of the footage. I find that it always gives an additional and interesting angle to a film knowing that it is based on true events. Some of the moments of the film, such as when they atempted to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Alien Autopsy (DVD): The truth behind the lie (984 words)
by - written on 24/01/08 (Very useful, 132 readings)
Rating:

Was there really an alien autopsy or was it a lie???? THE FILM The film begins with an American documentary maker signing a contract to have privacy rights to an interview and information with Ray, played by Declan Donnelly and Gary, played by Ant McPartlin. The boys then enter the office and start to give the American his interview. They start back at the beginning telling of how they came to see this old film footage. Ray is an avid Elvis fan who sells 'tat' on market stall, he has a very cheeky and likable side but is also on the scam. Gary is the more clever one of the duo who works in a law firm but when he doesn't get ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review E.T Phone Home! (calls will be charged at premium rate, even ... (1267 words)

So do any of you know which one is Ant and which one is Dec? Well not many do which is why the pair of cheeky northern chappies are always photographed the same way, Ant (receding hairline) on the left (your left) and Dec on the right. At least I think that's the correct order. The boys are in the news again for the latest in a long line of telephone fixing scams, this time not their doing but for picking up an award at the ITV British Comedy Awards that wasn't theirs. The public got to the vote for the winner on the night of the now ironically titled 'Peoples Choice Award' and they chose the BBC`s Catherine Tate Show. But the TV production company that made ...  Read the complete review

- Cast & Crew - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466664/fullcredits - Plot - Ray Santilli travels to America, where he stumbles on video footage of an alien autopsy from the 1940s that happened at the infamous Roswell base, which was owned by the man who filmed it as the footage was never collected from the government and he agrees to sell the footage for 30k, with Ray thinking that he could make a fortune by selling copies, as he makes money from selling pirated videos in England. However, there's a problem - when Ray attempts to show the footage to his friends and family back home, he discovers that the footage has been ...  Read the complete review
