Advantages: Contains some of the most iconic film scenes I can remember

Disadvantages: Needs for time focused on Zooey Deschanel, because she rocks

One of my favourite movies of all time for three reasons; it has an AMAZING ensemble cast; the soundtrack is legendary and contains many classics; and the script is good.

The film follows the story of William as he follows the band Stillwater on their tour across America, having been introduced to rock n roll by his sister Anita as she left the family home due to strained relations with her mother. The movie is semi autobiographic (it was written and directed by Cameron Crowe) and for me that makes it extra special, since some of the images you see are actual recreations of memories from Cameron's younger years, such as the scene in the car with his mother and sister where he finds out how old he actually is.

This film offered break out role for Patrick Fugit, Kate Hudson and Zooey Deschanel, all of whom had little previous experience. Frances McDormand shows of her comedic talents as the lead character's mother. The other performances turned in are equally as memorable.

Summary: A film for anyone who loves classic rocknroll and a good story
