I want get straight to the point with this film its an out and out Bollywood classic. Firstly I remember watching this as a child and really enjoying the basic concept. Three brothers seperated at birth through traumatic circumstances, each taking completely seperate paths. Ultimately its about lifes tragedy and as it would appear desperately formulaic to a viewer today ultimately that is part of this films beauty. Obviously the film is neatly tied up and comes to a conclusion which is inevitably predictable. Amar Akbar Anthony is a Hindi language film which was released in 1977 and it is the first Hindi film I recall ever seeing as a child. PLOT SUMMARY Kishanlal (Pran) is an ex con fleeing from the mob who leaves his wife and three young sons in the process. His wife Bharati (Nirupa Roy) becomes blind and is separated from her children who end up being brought up by a Hindu policeman, a Muslim tailor and a Catholic priest with new names of Amar (Vinod Khanna), Akbar (Rishi Kapoor) & Anthony (Amitabh Bachchan).
