American Pie 2 is the sequel to the summer of 1999's most funniest comedy, like this one, American Pie 1 was a bawdy comedy which had many of us in stitches and yes it is back with more rapturous laughs and almost pant wetting situations. The Plot Summary ============== The boys and girls of the first American Pie all return in this sequel and yes Nadia included! The gang have just finished their first year of college and decide to make the most of their holidays and after being banned from holding any parties in their neighbourhood. The boys, with the advice from Kevin?s brother decide to rent out a holiday house near the beach and here is where the fun begins. The Spoilers. (DO NOT READ IF YOU DON?T WANT TO SPOIL THE FILM) ============================================== ============== Whilst at their holiday summer house, Jim (Jason Biggs from ?Loser?) receives a postcard from exchange student Nadia telling him that she will visit him in a few weeks time. On this revelation, Jim sets out to find out how good he was in bed and so pays a visit to his one and only sexual partner Michelle (Alyson Hannigan ?Buffy?) who tells him that he ?sucked?. Michelle attempts to cheer up poor old Jim and tells him she would teach him all she knows. In the meantime, Kevin and ex-girlfriend Vicky find themselves in a difficult position as they are not together and it is obvious that she has got on with her life where he still hopes that they will get back together and seems desperate and foolish in front of her when she introduces him to her date. Oz on the other hand is still with his ?prissy? girlfriend Heather (Mina Suvari ?American Beauty?) and they must deal with a long distance relationship as Heather is off in France on a study trip during the holidays. Other main characters Stifler (Seann Williams Scott ?Road Trip and Final Destination?) and Finch or should I say ?shitbreak? are still arguing after Stifl
er finds out about him sleeping with his Mom. The two try to keep their distance and in that time, Finch attempts to lean the art of Tantra. The Laughs. ----------------- I wont say much about these laughs as you will be expecting these other wise so all I will say is that this film is crammed yet again with more laughs however immature or rather gross and the film should have you in stitches on occasions. Laughs include when Jim mistakes a tube of extra strong glue for lubricant whilst watching a blue movie and so you can guess what will happen next. Also Stifler finds a surprising drink at one of his parties. One of the funniest bits are when the boys on one of their DIY jobs and mistake two of the woman occupants of being lesbians. Soon the lad?s find themselves entwined in a sticky situation with many ?I?ll do it if you do it first? lines which really goes too far! Also visits to Band camp made by Jim to see Michelle make for hilarious viewing and also such things as Stifler?s brother?s arrival and also the phone conversations between distant lovers Oz and Heather, make this film very funny all the way through from start to finish. The Cast. ======== Jim (James Levenstien) - Jason Biggs Stifler (Steve Stifler) - Seann William Scott Michele Flaherty - Alyson Hannigan Kevin 'Kev' Myers - Thomas Ian Nicholas Oz (Chris Ostreicher) - Chris Klein Finch (Paul ?Shitbreak' Finch) - Eddie Kaye Thomas Heather - Mena Suvari Jim's Dad ? Eugene Levy Jim's Mom - Molly Cheek Vicky (Victoria ?Vic' Lathum) - Tara Reid Nadia - Shannon Elizabeth Jessica - Natasha Lyonne The Shermanator (Chuck Sherman) - Chris Owen Stifler's Brother - Eli Marienthal How I saw it and my verdict. ====================== Well to cut a long story short, I saw this film about 2 weeks previous to its release as I had a pair of tickets to see an advance
preview of the film and what?s even better is that it was totally free! I went to my local cinema with a friend of mine and all the way through the film we laughed. I was determined not to like it as I thought the first was funny but in some ways, I didn?t enjoy the first as much as other people did but a reason for this could include the fact that I hadn?t seen the film in the cinema but I would highly recommend watching this film in the cinema as it gives a much better experience. The film is packed full of laughs throughout and it never outstayed its welcome. In my view, the best character was Stifler as he was always full of gags and was a truly comical person. Jim and Michelle also gave good performances with funny situations included and the best cameo role goes to Jim?s dad who comes to the rescue or in other occasions interrupts in rather ?intimate? moments. Jim?s dad plays more of a bigger role in this part thanks to his success in the first movie. On the whole, I would highly recommend you to go to the cinema to see this movie as it is a great laugh for all ages but is aimed toward the teen market and twenty to thirty something?s as it is rather bawdy. Just think Porky?s with more of a plot and better scripting and acting etc. and you?re there! I had previously seen pictures of this film in America and was waiting for them to turn up but they never did. I expect that as in the first film of American Pie, the video was released with unseen footage and this will probably be the same case once more. What is getting more annoying though, is the fact that they have just re-released American Pie one with more extras which means hard core fans forking out more money for what is believed to be ?collectors editions? even though there are thousands or more likely millions in circulation. American Pie 2, is a film which will have many more people in stitches and it is bound to be a huge success in the UK as was the first! I can?t
wait to see it again! ---------------------------------------------- --------------------- Since seeing the film in the cinema months ago, I have also now seen it on the small screen, or to be more specific, on DVD! And I must say it hasn't lost any of its laughs and humour! In fact the DVD just makes it better as it has more adult uncut scenes added to the film. The DVD is Crammed full of extras including some short deleted scenes and loads more. After taking time out to weigh up the pros and cons of the original and it's sequel, I have since come to the conclusiom that the second provides more laughs and although the first was more groundbreaking and original the second wins hands down with a great soundtrack to boot! Enjoy :) Mike.
