Whats the difference between American Pie and this one? (American Pie 2 (DVD))

Disadvantages: A repeat of American Pie, The jokes are all getting old

First of all, I would like to say that I could spot barely ANY differences between American pie and American pie 2, once you have seen one you have seen them both. For example, In American Pie the first scene is of one of the stars being caught by his parents in his room, doing something he shouldnt have been (watching illegal porn). In the second one both his parents and the parents of the girl he is with walk in on him to find him (trying) to have sex with her, without much luck. If no-one elso can see the similarities here then there is something wrong with me.

That was just one of many things, and so if you dont want to be dissapointed, going to the movies expecting a whole new load of jokes then dont watch it. I'll give it that it IS funny, but all the jokes are getting old now, and if I hear them again I think I may go mad.

In response to one of the comments i'd like to say that as I said the movie is funny. It made me laugh but not as much as I could have done watching any other comedy. I may have found it slightly better if I hadn't already seen Americna Pie, but maybe not, I can't say because I dont know. Its one of those movies that you watch because its predecessor was good, but like a lot of sequals, its NOT as good as the predecessor, making it dissapointing.

You may also be thinking that it'll be good because it will develop the unfinished storyline from the first movie. This is true. However, the way the movie is developed is irrelevant, it was as though they just kind of did it that way so the film would have some kind of storyline. Everything that occurs in American Pie 2, as a direct result of American Pie, is guessable and unoriginal (as I've already said). If I'd been asked to I could have predicted the whle storyline before watching this movie, and I'm definately no film director so it makes me wonder whether those who made this movie were, or whether they were imposter
s dressed up to LOOK like directors, which I think is more likely.

Go see it then if you have nothing better to do, or if you dont mind watching something you've already pretty much seen, but DONT make any special arrangements to see it, its not worth it, in fact its pretty lame.

NB: I apologise to any people posing as film directors who may be exposed because of this (ie: the American Pie 2 crew), when in fact all that they are qualified in is flea training...(fun job I here you all cry, I agree!)
