American Pie is a true comedy classic of recent times and a film that has spawned many sequels. American Pie sees Jim (Jason Biggs), Oz (Chris Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) as four best friends who are approaching the end of their senior year and all four are still virgins and decide to make a pact that each of them will lose their virginity by prom. The four guys each have their own pursuits with Jim pursuing foreign exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), Oz starting a relationship with choir girl Heather (Mena Suvari), Kevin pursuing things with his girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid) and Finch pursuing anyone available by starting a rumour about how well endowed he is. The film sees other amazing performances from Eugene Levy as Jim's dad and Seann William Scott as Stifler. This film is a true classic which I love to bits and one that I watch anytime it is on telly or if the mood fancies me I chuck the dvd in and it always cheers you up.

This is one of those films that was a truly huge hit that was bigger than anybody could have ever imagined and saw a cult following form within a very short space of time. The film pushes the teen comedy to a new standard as we see some of the most disgusting and outrageous scenes to have been seen in any movie like this to date and thanks to the cast being perfectly selected we see scenes that feel believable.
For me this is one of those comedies that you can watch numerous times and still find absolutely hilarious as well as giving a true insight into how it is to be a teen with the peer pressure regarding sex nowadays and makes me think back to how I felt when I hit 16 and was still a virgin (not that long ago so I can relate) and just how real this is as I remember talking to friends in the same kind of manner I see in this film.

A true must have movie that just makes you laugh throughout.
