Great lads comedy (American Pie (Ultimate Edition, DVD))

It seems like a life-time ago that this came out, and it really was. The film that started a craze still going strong is here. American Pie is about a group of teenage lads in the US whose only obsession is with getting laid. The adventures of this group range from successful to terribly unsuccessful, and we laugh at and with them as they mess up time and time again.

These films are always a vehicle for showing as much nudity as possible, and there's some explicit topless stuff in here that teenage boys will love. The sexual joking and innuendo is also high, so those who are prudish need not apply.

The acting is never great, always one dimensional characters but that's fine. What this is about is giving teens a film they can tell their friends about, and maybe masturbate to whilst their parents are out (there I said it).

The comedy is pretty bizarre (see goings on at Band Camp), and you have to accept the weird and wonderful goings on as part of the fun.

There are a whole bunch of follow up films, but none are as good, and the further they go the worse they are.

All in all, a fun film for the lads, but nothing particularly great.
