Over the years there have been many teen comedies. But American Pie must be one of the greatest of all time. It has everything you could ask for in an American teen comedy. American Pie came out back in 1999. It was directed by Paul Weitz and stars Jason Biggs, Seann Willian Scott, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, Chris Klien and many others. Many of these actors were unknowns before this film but have gone on to be big stars. The film was a massive hit at the box office, picked up quite a few awards and now has a huge cult status and has spawned several sequal films.

The film tells the story of four high school kids. They are all coming to the end of there high school years and heading for graduation. They are all very curious about life and sexuality and are trying new things all the time. So the film basically follows there experiences and the mischeif they get upto.

The is a great film. There are lots of moments that make you laugh and the storyline is quite good. The are quite a few gross out moments and sometimes they do push the boundries quite a bit. But in many ways that was what made this film so sucessful and got it such a huge reputation.

The actors are all really good and its no surprise many of them went on to bigger and better things after this film. There is also a really good soundtrack for this film with some classic tracks on that I really enjoy.

The film runs for 95 minutes and it really flies by. I am sure they could have made this longer and it would have still kept people entertained.

The film is rated as 15. There is quite a bit of strong language, some nudity and some very crude humor and sick moments. So this is not a film to sit down with the family and watch!

The DVD is quite good, there are quite a few extras, thing you would normally get like trailers etc... But also some funny deleted scenes and thigs like that to make you laugh.

Overall this is a great comedy. Its one of those films that you will either love or hate. Its not for everyone but if your into gross out comedy this is one of the best around and one not to be missed. Go and check out American Pie!
