In 1800s America, a land owner named John Bell is taken to court by his neighbour, Kate Batts, over a land dispute. It transpires that the business deal was set up against Church law (Bell charged his neighbour far too much interest) and the land is returned to Batts’ care. Bell is saved further punishment by the court, but Batts is less inclined to be so lenient. As Bell and his family leave the courthouse, Batts approaches the man and curses him, and his daughter in retribution for the suffering he has caused her. Bell is well-prepared for any attacks from either Batts or her slave workers, but more mysterious events soon start to occur in his home. His wife ... Read the complete review

The door violently shakes, and the door handle twists rapidly as the mysterious horror that lurks behind the door desperately tries to get into the room. After some initial shocks and jumps, the scene changes to the girl's mother, who is reading a journal that her daughter found in the attic. This journal is from the early ... Read the complete review

Based on the novel The Bell Witch, the film starts in modern day America when a young girl finds herself drawn to an old diary and old porcelain doll that was discovered in the attic. Her mother soon takes it from her and when she reads it discovers letters from the nineteenth century that warn that the unthinkable has come to pass. We are then took back to that ...
