A Cry For Help. An Inconvenient Truth. ********** “It is difficult to get a man to understand something if his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” Upton Sinclair. ********** A film directed by Davis Guggenheim and starring Planet Earth, as represented in her time of Great Crisis by Former Vice President Al Gore. ********** It’s a long time since I’ve seen a film that affected me so deeply as this one did. I can start this review with that thought because it’s important. I thought I knew why it was so important to do the things I’ve been doing. Washing out the baked bean cans for the ... Here it comes people, the third and final instalment of my Tuesday night (which was actually ages ago now, dooyoo took so long adding this category, I think it was all just for the suspense value!!!)....I bet none of you can wait! As you all know (because you were paying attention) we went to the Electric Cinema on Portobello Road, for those of you who read my last review, you will know that the Electric Cinema is a tiny cinema with only one screen, so you have to see what they are playing, the Tuesday that we went, they just happened to be playing An Inconvenient Truth. I knew absolutely nothing about the film we were going to see, let alone the ... Read the complete review

It is seen as a political piece of propaganda but its up to you ... Read the complete review

If ever there was a man able to dethrone George Bush armed with only a mouth and the world's population of graphs, then Al Gore is probably the man to do it. 'I'm Al Gore. I used to be the next president of the United States' clearly states where the rambling will eventually end up- right on the White House lawn. But is this lecture turned documentary enough to convince everyone that the world is in terrible danger? Plot? What plot? Unlike some documentaries that try to sway our mind, but do have a story to follow (Super-Size Me for example), An Inconvenient Truth is essentially one of Al Gore's lectures, put onto film, with a few clips 'tacked on' to break up ... ~~~~~~“I'm Al Gore, I used to be the next president of the United States of America.”~~~~~~ An Inconvenient Truth is former United States vice President Al Gore’s documentary on global warming, which was released in 2006. Gore’s interest in climate change was inspired by Roger Revelle, who taught him at Harvard in the 1970’s and he has subsequently devoted much of his life to studying and exposing surrounding issues. In An Inconvenient Truth, Gore aims to dispel confusion about the causes and consequence of climate change by presenting data from innumerable worldwide sources. In doing so he illustrates the negative effects that we are having on our ... Read the complete review
