Advantages: The story keeps you gripped

Disadvantages: The father never came good, but despite this, Frank got far

Typically, I watch movies that have been recently released and have high profile actors as their stars. This was recommended by a friend and turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We see the world through the eyes of Frank McCourt and see him and his family struggling to survive, go through a multitude of tough, testing times and come out the other end, finally, and thankfully, in one piece. One brilliant quote (there were more)- in the name of the father, the son and the holy toast - classic! Had to listen again, to make sure i'd heard it right, but had me howling at the innocence of Frank as a child. The picture on the cover is intriguing in the sense that you can see that there is something not quite right and that is something that draws you in, alongside the query raising title "Angela's Ashes"

Summary: Following the story of Frank McCourt facing harsh times in Limerick
