Advantages: Pass's a few hours and will probably make you laugh

Disadvantages: Really just aimed at teenagers

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is a teenage film, aimed more at girls between the ages of 12-17. I ended up watching it a plane whilst on the way to Florida, when there was simply nothing better to watch. It passed a few hours anyway.

---Background--

Angus, Thongs is based on the best-selling novels by Louise Rennison, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging and It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers. It is directed by Gurinder Chadha. Whose other films include Bhaji on the Beach, Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice. The main part is played by new comer to the big screen Georgia Groome. She plays the part amazingly well for her first major part in a movie.

---Plot---

The film based around Georgia Nicholson, played by Georgia Groome, trying to get the love of her life Robbie, Aaron Johnson, to fall for her. Robbie has an un-identical twin called Tom, and Jas, Georgia's best friend, has a crush on him. She gets advice from her best friends, the ACE gang, including Jas, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ellen, Manjeeven Grewal and Rosie, Georgia Henshaw. Georgia is also trying to get her parents to allow her to throw the best 15th birthday party ever. We watch Georgia grow up and mature as a person. And will she get Robbie or will she end up falling flat on her face?

---Opinion---

This film is best for its target market, teenage girls. And though it passed a few hours on the plane, it has to be said it is not the best film ever made or a particularly good chick flick. It is a 12A because of its moderate sex references. I think this is an appropriate certificate and works well with anyone who wants to see it. If you get to see it for free like me or see it for a cheap price then it's alright. It's not really worth buying the DVD, though it is only £3.95 from amazon.co.uk. It's not particularly worth watching so don't bother.
