Proves the rule that Sequels are inferior (Army of Darkness (DVD))

OK,Your stuck in a log cabin. You wife is now one of the evil dead. Nowhere to run to. To top it all off your arm is slowly dying and starting to poison the rest of your body. Best solution? Chop off your arm and fix a chainsaw in its place.

Normally for our hero Ash things get alot worse and AOD brings him no exception. He gets sucked into a vortex and is sent back to the dark ages. All he has is his car, the chainsaw attached to his arm and a shotgun or a Boom-Boom stick as it is called throughout the film.

He is then sent on a quest by a wizard who captures him and must bring back 'The Book Of The Dead' otherwise the realm will be overtaken by the dark lords (Lord of the Rings this isn't!). Before he picks up the book though he must say some 'magic' words before picking up the book. Otherwise the Dark Lord will be awoken and the 'Army of Darkness' will arise from their graves...naturally Ash being Ash he forgets the words and so they must now batlle the 'Army Of Darkness' in a battle to the...erm...well...death I suppose.

Alot of people don't like AOD and while it is inferior to Evil Dead I found it to be a good film overall and though somebits may be taxing there are other bits which are superb.Its the little things which count (one scene where the skeletons have risen from the grave and they say a women walking around. You can hear one of the skeletons say "Cor,thats a sight for sore bones". Well it made me laugh anyway!).

If you like dark humour then this should be good for you. You can pick it up on a cheap VHS label if ya want for around £5.
DVD's have been brought out and the US version is the best available at the minute although picture quality on the 'deleted scenes' is meant to be a bit lacklustre.

Summary:
