Arsene Lupin is a national hero of sorts in France, a series of books about him, a kind of French Robin Hood, were written in the early 1900’s and he has appeared in numerous media since then. Arsene is a jewel thief, an adventurer and a ladies man. He is charming, suave and sophisticated. He robs from the rich and gives to……… himself! Unlike other national heroes, like Robin Hood, Ned Kelly & The Three Musketeers, Arsene has never really broken out of France, other than in the Japanese Anime/Manga Lupin, who is obviously based on him.
