Liza Minelli is believable as the waitress/actress who can assume any persona in certain situations as we find out. Her father Ralph also takes some of the best lines. Dudley Moore is all about the visual jokes and general slurs falling about as a drunk and having hilarious lines which no truly drunk person would be capable of coming up with and yet it seems to be...more

Premium Review Arthur (DVD): Isn't this fun? Isn't fun the best thing to have? (507 words)
by - written on 20/06/09 (Very useful, 3 readings)
Rating:

Arthur Bach (Dudley Moore) is an undeservedly rich man and spends most of his time dreadfully drunk. His story stems from the $750 million inheritance he is due but only if he agrees to marry the dull and dismal Susan Johnson (Jill Eikenberry). Rating:

Arthur Bach is a very rich man who lives his life having fun, getting driven around town by his chaffeur, and being drunk most of the time. He comes from a very wealthy family, whom care only for themselves, and have threatened Arthur that if he does not marry the most boring girl named Susan (also from a wealthy family) within a month, then he stands to lose his $750 million inheritance and be "cut off" from all the money. Arthur even has his own servant named Hobson, and whilst they are one day both out shopping, Arthur meets the girl of his dreams, Linda Marolla (Liza Minnelli). Linda is an actress / waitress whom comes from a relatively poor ...  Read the complete review
