Advantages: funny

Disadvantages: there are much better films

Yesterday I just had the urge to watch a lighthearted film, and so on the recommendation of the man in my local video rental store, I chose Baby Mama.

The character of Kate is a hard working woman who has predominantly been focussed on her work, and is very much the career woman. She also has a bit of a creepy boss, who is definitely one to watch out for, guaranteed laughs! When she finally decides she'd like a baby, she has to go down the surrogate route, due to her "T-shaped" uterus, which becomes a bit of a joke within the film. The woman she is partnered with, Angie, could not be more different from her and comedy follows.

Angie's lifestyle is somewhat different to Kate's, and due to her job in the food industry, she is keen for Angie to eat properly through the pregnancy. Clashes such as this make for comical scenes within the movie which come to a head when several revelations are made and both girls have more than one surprise.

Baby Mama is not a serious film, and nor does it take itself seriously. It is a good comedy that will warm your heart and keep you busy for a couple of hours. It's certainly not the best movie I've ever seen, but it'll give you a giggle and is worth a watch due to its unusual content.

Summary: nice, heartwarming film, but there are certainly better movies out there
