Advantages: The plot, good effects

Disadvantages: weak acting in some parts

When I first saw this movie sitting up there on the shelf I though what a crap lookin film but when it came on the TV a month later, my mind was quickly changed. The acting at times is a bit weak, but the plot keeps your attention. You don't have a clue what is going to happen and it surprises you right to the end.

The effects are eerie and VERY realistic, which ads to the overall effect this film has on you.

When the movie came out on video, I walked straight past it only giving it a slight glance. I thought it looked and sounded like a boring old story for women to look at the firemen's body's. But I was wrong. Everything in this film is great and the atmosphere is tremendous.

It begins by a young Billy Baldwin witnessing the death of his father by a fire. Several years later, he's just graduated from fire-man academy and placed on Kurt Russell's watch. It's during this graduation that we see our first big fire, and it kills a man. Enter Robert De Niro as a fire investigator, was it an accident or arson? Well I'll ruin that part and tell you. It was an arsonist who has been going around setting a lot of buildings on fire. A little emotional story unravels and in the end an intresting twist happens and you find out who it is. I don't want to go into too much detail and ruin it by telling you everything. You will just have to watch it.

If you are looking for a good movie that will hold your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat, watch this one. You won't be dissapointed.
