Advantages: Good action film

Disadvantages: Not for everyone

Bad Boys is a fast paced action adventure thriller which has two fast talking lead characters and is one of those buddy cop films that Hollywood does so well.

In this film the two leads are played by Will Smith as Mike Lowry a rich boy who joined the polce force against his families wishes and leads a play boy lifestyle and his partner Marcus Burnett played by Martin Lawrence who is a family man at heart who is a little jealous of his partners life style. When a major heroin bust is stolen while in police custody the two come under suspiscion as the two cops who made the initial arrest and when a prostitute friend of Lowrys is killed by the robbers along with one of their own Lowry and Burnett discover that there is a witness played by Tea Leoni however she confuses the two cops and turns herself into Burnett rather than Lowry and the two sort of swap roles.

This is a good action film with some nice comedy moments, the strength of the film rests with the two lead characters and their on screen bickering, lots of car chases and shoot outs follow and the pace of the film is just right.

It is one of those films made for the viewer to sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride of stunts and fast talking dialogue, if this is not your type of film then you will hate it but if you like Eddie Murphy and Lethal Weapon then this should appeal as it sort of combines the two.

Summary: action thriller

My wife loves this film. I've somehow not seen it yet, despite having owned it DVD for around 2 years now!
