Bad Boys was made and released in 1995. The follow up was Bad Boys II and the films main stars are Will Smith who plays Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence who plays Marcus Burnett.

A large stash of heroin has somehow been taken from the police headquarters. Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) gives the boys 4 days to find the stash before Internal Affairs threaten to take over. To add to the chase of the missing heroin, they get a crazed call from Julie (Tea Leoni) who has witnessed the murder of one of Mike Lowrey's good friends. The only problem is that when she calls the station Mike is nowhere to be seen. The Captain insists that Marcus take on the girl and in doing so he will have to forgo his normal status of the married man and make out he is Mike Lowrey for however long it takes. When Marcus realises that Julie is in danger and is somehow linked to the missing heroin he has to move into Mikes swish bachelor pad and 'be Mike'. With that decided, Mike moves in with Marcus' wife and kids as they think Marcus is away on assignment somewhere. In the bid to track down the heroin and the man they get a little bit more than they bargained for.

This film is pretty old but in my eyes will never be dated. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have never been better suited to two roles like these. The characters they play are hilarious and the interaction they have with each other makes for a great combination. Very few action films out there manage to get the balance right between the action and the comedy but this film does it perfectly. With Lowrey being the rich cop that drives the fast car, has all the moves and loves the women. His polar opposite is Burnett who is married with kids, neurotic and downright crazy. The pair together are sensational and this film is one of my favourites. I never tire of watching it and the plot is good along with the comedy and one liners following on. The casting of this film is faultless. Captain Howard played by Pantoliano is the perfect seasoning to the dish. He has the right edge for the film and plays the stressed out captain to a tee.

Some of the scenes in the film can be so fast paced and action filled and at the same time so funny. There is a scene at the very end of the film where Burnett has to drive Lowrey's Porsche. Knowing that Marcus drives 'like Miss Daisy', after a thrilling car chase that leaves you wondering who is going to come off worse, Lowrey turns to Burnett and says "Now THAT'S how you drive". There are countless scenes that bring tears to my eyes including the one where they go to a convenience store and the store clerk goes crazy. The Director of this film, Michael Bay, actually allowed Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to improvise which is why that convenience store scene actually came about.

If you have never seen this film, I would ask that you take the time to watch it. If action and comedy are two genres of film that you like, you can't go wrong with this film.

There are various extras on this film but depending on what version you brought and in what year they may differ however you may get the following:

Filmographies
Commentary
Music Video
Theatrical Trailer
Featurette
Documentary

Run Time 114 Minutes
