I wasnt really sure what to expect when I rented this DVD. I knew it was a comedy about a ping pong player but was unsure what direction it would take. I did not expect a homage to the late great Bruce Lee. You think a big Lee fan would have realised from the title (Fist of Fury) but alas no I did not. So that you can picture the story a bit imagine "enter the dragon" and "the Bruce Lee story" told using ping pong and an annoying protagonist who is the complete opposite of Lee. For those who havnt seen any of the mentioed films I would definately consider seeing them to get the most of this movie. Its quite a simple plot involving a shamed ...

Balls of Fury is one of those marmite films... you will either love it or hate it. It is very similar to the Will Ferrell/Jon Heder ice skating comedy 'Blades of Glory' in that it is very very stupid, involves a former sports champion who has lost his way and a journey to regain his honour and name... well kind of! Randy Daytona was twelve when he was at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was the red hot favourite for the table tennis gold and America's darling. There was no way he was going to lose, unless something made him nervous or distracted him. His father did just this by telling him he had bet a fortune on his son winning with the local Triads.
