Now, this film is quite difficult to have an opinion on. On the one hand it’s a good thriller with a good twisting plot, but on the other hand, it’s a rubbish, sleazy porn film. The story follows Michael Douglas as your usual cop who’s got loads of problems, investigating a murder. The prime suspect is Sharon Stone, who generally plays with his head a lot. What follows is Douglas falling for Stone and their affair. With many twists and turns this film could’ve been an excellent thriller. I don't care what anyone says -- this movie is totally awesome! It's not just because of all the sex though, even though the sex makes it even better! Sharon is at the top of her game -- she is a great actress and I totally love her! Basic Instinct is full of mystery and suspense, and it's impossible to get bored at any point. Also, nobody plays burned out slime-balls as good as Michael Douglas, and his sex scenes with Sharon are so good and realistic.
