For this 1997 film, Batman & Robin, Joel Schumacher once again takes the helm, although the role of Batman changes hands once again, with the charismatic George Clooney playing the Dark Knight this time. The Plot Batman's latest foes are terrorising Gotham City (as per usual), this time in an environmental fashion. Mr Freeze is trying to turn Gotham and the rest of the world into one giant iceberg, while the sultry Poisin ivy wants to make the world greener. Both are accomplished scientists, exacting revenge on the people who have harmed them, their close ones and their beliefs. Batman & Robin must combat these two foes with the help of ... I wasn't going to bother reviewing this, but having already reviewed the other 4 Warner Brother releases in the franchise, I thought I might as well for the sake of being completist. Like the previous 2 sequels, B&R doesn't bother to carry any narrative over from the previous entries, opting instead for a whole host of crazy new plot threads and even crazier villians. Mr Freeze has Gotham in terror as he sets about freezing everybody and everything that he comes into contact with, whilst trying to find a cure for an illness that his wife (and another old favourite in the series) has. Meanwhile, mad Ivy is on the loose batting her eyelids and blowing her ... Read the complete review

Written by Bob Kane and Akiva Goldsman, and directed by Joel Schumacher Batman and Robin is the fourth, and last, adaptation of the comic book hero produced by the Warner Brothers that was released back in June 1997. This is a review of the film only. I wasn't going to bother reviewing this but since I have done the other three in the Warner Bros series I thought I had better do this one for completeness. ****Plot**** Once again Gotham City has captured the attention of yet more villains that are intent on taking over the City and all its residents and only Bruce Wayne/Batman (George Clooney) and his side kick, Dick Grayson/Robin (Chris ... Leaves you cold, doesn't it. That empty, hollow feeling knowing that the Batman character has been slaughtered to death and back by so many bad elements that it boggles the mind. So many things went wrong here. Now, to be fair, the movie looked good in its presentation. The previews gave us a glimpse of a colorful spectacle that the movie was going to deliver. The lights dim. Everyone hushes. The presentation is good. Then the script kicks in, and you feel queasy. The acting begins, and you feel a churning sensation. Then Clooney delivers a line, and it's straight to the toilet to heave the popcorn! I HATE walk-through actors! With a passion!! ... Read the complete review

I first watched Batman and Robin when it first came out on -shudder- video, and I remember thinking how bad Arnie was in it. Well after 2 or 3 years I sat down to watch it again and discovered there was a lot worse than the Austrian Oak. In this third sequel to the Tim Burton directed Batman, we see Batman (From Dusk Till Dawns George Clooney), team up with his sidekick Robin (Vertical Limits Chris o Donnel) to take on Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman). But this time they will have help in the form of Batgirl(played my Alicia Silverstone). What Director Joel Schumacher, who directed the previous Batman film Batman Forever, was ...
