First of all, this box set is amazing value for money at the moment, comprising of 16 discs containing:
The mini series (three hours)
Season One (thirteen episodes)
Season Two (twenty-two episodes)
Season Three (twenty-two episodes)
Plus Extras.
The whole set weighs in at 1115 minutes and after you have watched them all, you will still want more. This is adult sci-fi that plays off many themes happening in the world in which we live.
Forget the old Battlestar that you may be familiar with, this has been completely reworked and as such the comedy and "camp" has been removed, and although the Centurions are fully CGI, the Cylons have developed the ability to mimic human form leaving the human survivors second guessing each other throughout the three seasons. The special effects are truly amazing, the space battles in season two truly are as good as anything you will see at the cinema.
Battlestar Galactica has rewritten sci-fi for the twenty-first century leaving other shows to try and catch up.
