... episodes of TREK!! The Cylons are by far the best things in the show (remember when Hannibal from THE A-TEAM dressed up as one in an episode from the show) with their flashing red eye reminiscent of KITT. (hey -perhaps he was like SKYNET in the TERMINATOR films; a fore-runner for the Cylons...??!!??) Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict are cool as Apollo and Starbuck respectively (though Benedict is no Katee Sackoff!!!) whilst Adama is played almost to perfection by character actor, Lorne Greene. The real downside to the sh...more

Premium Review Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Series (DVD): The original series takes Galactica back to it's origins... (560 words)

Before watching the new imagined series of this show, I made my wife buy the original series boxset for nostalgia. Though it has always had its critics, this original series always held a warm spot in my heart that has never ever gone away. I even quite liked the follow-up spin-off GALACTICA 1980 though true fans have never accepted it to be part of the Battlestar cannon and pretty much pretend it never even happened... The first thing you notice is this has aged. And often not well. Made as an attempt to capture some of the influence of STAR WARS on the smaller screen, the show never had the budgets it needed which explains why Cylon Centurions ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Series (DVD): The beginning of a great series (163 words)
by - written on 20/07/00 (Somewhat useful, 37 readings)
Rating:

Battlestar Galactica, the last remaining battleship after a race of robotic soldiers, the Cylons, wipe out all human life on various human colonies in space. The Galactica and the remaining ships form a convoy and go off in search of a fabled human colony far far away called Earth. This was the pilot for a tv series which introduced us to Commander Adama, Captain Starbuck and Apollo. Great action, adventure and humour all rolled in to make this a great pilot for a good series. The series itself did have some great episodes and some so so episodes but it is definitely worth watching this one. The only down side was that the Cylons seemed way to easy to be killed and ...  Read the complete review

a classic scifi! (101 words)

Battlestar galactica the movie is basicaly the first few episodes welded into one film. It is about humans who are about to be wiped out by the evil cylons who are robots with very lame voices and the battlestar galactica is the last big fighting ship left after the cylons attacked and practically killed everyone except for the galactica and a small amount of civilian ships.the rest of the film is about how the galactica manages to ilude their enemy and get away from the robots with lame voices! I would recommend this film for children mostly. ...  Read the complete review
