Advantages: Heartwarming and beautiful
Disadvantages: It made me cry!
This film is perfect to watch in any mood or with anyone, I watched it with my boyfriend neither of us being soppy film lovers, but we both really enjoyed watching this dvd. Anyone with a friend or a child could realate which means basically anyone.
Beaches is a wonderful heart warming story or two friend who met when they were little girls starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. The two girls were fasinated by one another, CC (Bette Milder) was a child preformer with an amazing presence and voice and Hillary (Barbara Hershey) came from a very well off life that CC could only dream of.
The girls promised to keep intouch with eachother by writing which they did through all their childhood and college years. One night while CC was preforming in a down town bar Hillary walks in after walking out of her affluent but unhappy life and the two girls stay together from there.
They love and help eachother through all aspects of their lives from budding careers to heart breaking divorce. Hillary then goes on to have a child from her broken down marriage and vows to bring the little girl up alone, CC is there for her every step of the way.
The story ends in tears but the moral of the story is overwhelming, a true masterpeice of a film.
I don't want to say too much and give away the ending or the meat of the storyline but all I can say if you haven't seen this movie, watch it and watch it soon you will not be dissapointed, an absolute must see for everyone and particaulary perfect for a girly night in but do be prepared for tears!
