Please do not read if you want to watch this film without knowing what happens - this review has spoilers! My explanation for this is that this is a true story - so well known in many circles anyway - & also it is impossible to really discuss the depth of this film without knowing what happens in it. I have to admit I had not heard anything about this film when I first saw it & so had no idea what to expect. I thought I would upload it here as A Beautiful Mind is one of my favourite Drama films ever and I just wanted to recommend it and give some opinions on it. John Nash is a brilliant mathematician, but has great difficulty in building relationships with other people. Luckily his room-mate at University befriends him and ensures that John's University life is happy outside of studying. On graduation, John lands an excellent job as a code-breaker, and manages to snare a beautiful young wife called Alicia, a former student. I must admit I had never heard of John Nash before I went to see "A Beautiful Mind". However, the movie was generating tremendous review everywhere and I was curious to see what the fuss was about. This truly is a story of Nash's life as we pick it up in 1947, as he is student at Princeton. The early Nash is introverted but supremely confident in his own ability especially his mental capacity. He remarks at the beginning of the movie that he doesn't like people much and that people don't much like him. This is the overwhelming impression of the opening hour of the movie.
