Advantages: good comedy

Disadvantages: didn't understand all the Indian stuff.

Bend It Like Beckham is a film not about football but about a teenage British Indian girl who wants to pursue a career in women's professional football when the family wants her to study hard and become a solicitor or some other good pay job.

The film is produced by Gurinder Chadha, she was born in Indian family so knows how Asian culture clashes with the West. She uses some of the stereotypes to help her character achieve her goals.

David Beckham should be proud of his name associated with this film. It is a feel good movie that will make anyone watching it laugh. It is a movie about personal success too. So overall a good story line and good comedy.

Without cultural clash and comedy you will find this to be a great football film.

The teenager Parminder Nagra is a good actress.

I liked the message that comes out of the story. One of the girl is Asian, one is white. Both come from different cultures yet their dreams and aspirations are same. We are all humans despite cultural differences.

Summary: good blend of football and comedy
