Advantages: Plenty of funny, realistic moments!

Disadvantages: Not such a grand finale as the first

Despite really enjoying the 1st series of Benidorm, I couldn't really see how they'd manage to get a 2nd series out of it with the use of the same characters and expected it to be a bit of a let down. The addition of one or two extra characters such as Mel (Madge's new boyfriend), a similarly carrot coloured disfigured wrinkly whose holiday is filled with misfortune (he nearly dies at least 4 times) and a half-cast baby called Coolio.

The writers of this budget holiday comedy program have done a stella job in making a series that comes out strongly on the back of the first, there's plenty of humorous moments and lots of little sarcastic comments between characters. The ending of this series does not have the same hillarious factor as in the first but apart from that it's still very good.

The slimey Spaniard barman's character has somewhat changed as he's actually rather unlucky in love as opposed to being the stud he was in the first. Although the first series was mostly set in the surroundings of the all-inclusive resort, this one tends to venture out a bit more, making it a little more interesting. The series also sees the now dead Wendy Richards make a short but memorable performance.

The second series of this somewhat trashy but entertaining series is easy viewing and well worth watching.
