'Beverley Hills Cop' is one of those films from the 1980s that they just don't make any more! You can put it in the same grouping as 'Lethal Weapon', 'Back to the Future' and most Arnie films and entitle it 'Effortless Entertainment'. Because it's just so easy to watch. The whole combination of characterisation, acting and soundtrack works very well to create one of the most familiar films of the 80s. It's no wonder they made 2 sequels. This is such a funny comedy, coming from all the way back in 1984 and starring the wonderul Eddie Murphy. It tells the tale of Axel Foley (Murphy), a street-wise cop who joins the Beverly Hills police force on a mission to find who killed his best friend. This is such a funny film. The best thing about it by far is Eddie Murphy. Murphy is an excellent actor, one who has a natural sense of cool, street-wise and witty to him.
