Beverly Hills Cop 2 is a very routine sequel to a very good film. It succeeds and is worthwhile because it helped launch the career of Tony Scott, who graduated onto better films such as Enemy of the State, and more recently, the remake of The Taking of Pelham 123. It helped establish Eddie Murphy as a bankable commodity, even if the film never reaches heights anywhere near those of the original outing. Okay, so this wasn't quite as good as the original, it is still a good movie. Like the first movie, you can watch it over and over again and still laugh. It is hilarious and as a movie itself it is pretty good too. The characters have even had a chance to grow from the first film. This is a really funny movie and if you haven't seen it in a while you should treat yourself and do so. But of course what we expect out of Eddie Murphy in this role is a wise cracking, fast talking, spur of the moment character. And that we get. This film is the best out of the whole trilogy. As in all 3, Axle Foley plays a comedy cop who as usual, is getting up to no good while solving the crime of the alphabet bandit. In the film he takes it upon himself to borrow a house for his own pleasure and interrupts the construction work being made by builders. Beverley Hills cop is an action-comedy. Eddie Murphy plays the part very well, and I dont think neone else could play the part as good as he does. U could not c actors like Jim Carrey or Bruce Willis playing the part of Axle Foley because these actors do not have the mixed genre of movies to play the part of Axle.
