When an American witnesses a murder through a shop window he has no idea that he is about to be drawn into his own private investigation and that his own safety will be threatened...
The Bird With The Crystal Plumage was the first film in Dario Argento's directoral career,it was his first giallo after leaving his career as a film critic and came hot on the heels of his writing credit for Once Upon a Time in the West.
Although many say that Profondo Rosso is probably his best giallo this introduces us to a lot of the twists and turns that would become Argentos trademark
BWCP is a film that anybody interested in films should see, it shows the emergence of a real film making talent, lets not forget this is Argento's first film as a director.
The best DVD version to go for would be Blue Undergrounds US 2 Disc release which contains a superb picture and some great extras.
Summary: Good introduction to Argento.
