Disadvantages: Not scary!

I am reviewing the film Black Christmas realised in 2006 this is a remake of the 1974 film.

I have not seen the original so cannot comment if this is better or worse? My opinion is that I cannot see any film being as poor as this one. I am an avid horror movie fan, even some of the unknown cheesy horror flicks do it for me, however Black Christmas was seriously disappointing. Poor acting with an unoriginal storyline was somewhat boring.

The plot is based around a group of girls living in a soroity house and you guessed its christmas. The house used to be occupied by Billy Lenz a serial killer who is currently being held in a mental intitution. He is in there after brutally murdering his family after years of abuse from his mother.

A tradition in the house is to leave Billy a gift under the tree on christmas eve (don't ask what the point of this is, because I have no idea).

Anyway if you haven't already guessed Billy escapes, people end up being murdered, mainly by having there eyes gorged out (nice!).

Overall this is an extremely predictable plot with only one small twist right at the end, which I will not spoil for you. The murder scenes are a little gruesome but not scary in the slightest.

Summary: If your a horror film fan, dont bother, you wont be impressed!
