Disadvantages: Getting up early

On a cold December morning i got a call from my boss sounding more excited than usual. "Chris, we've got the blade contract" he said before laughing hysterically down the phone.

At this point i didn't think to what this may incure, however, soon to horror i found out i would be needed to get up and make my way into london's covent garden at 8.30am on a saturday morning.

My job is as a Casting assistant and camera operator. I have worked for the company part time since summer and had done a few commercials, and one feature film (made for Sky called The Forth Angel).

Over the next few weeks i was working nonstop with my boss and co-workers to find Vampiers, a priest, a few marshall arts experts and other characters.

Come saturday you would expect some time off to relax and chill out with your mates but nope i was up early and auditioning people for the roles. This went on for 2 weeks on both saturday and sunday but i am not complaining as i met a lot of celebrities. We had people doing flips, jumps,attacking each other and even climbing up pillars.It was a dance studio we used and by the time we had finished we had nearly destroyed the whole room. Mirrors were smashed, the guide rails around the side had all been riped off and we even had a 3foot hole in the wall where some actor had ran at it and had done a flip off it!

From the script i have read it is going to be better than the original but i can't say much due to legal reasons.

Filming started at the start of march in
prauge and i hope to be going with my boss to the set in april, so watch for updates.
