Now as a young woman Vivian (Agnes Bruckner) lives with her aunt Astrid in Romania, where they run a hugely successful chocolate shop. Vivian is sadly in wait, waiting for the day that Gabriel (Oliver Martinez) will return; for Vivian is promised to him for saving her as a child from certain fate. But being promised to someone is no real pleasure and a chance encounter in a church late at night with Aiden (Hugh Dancy) shows Vivian that there are possibilities for love outside of promised marriage. As an avid lover of horror books and movies, I was ecstatic to hear that the most interesting and dynamic novel about werewolves I have ever read was to be adapted to the silver screen. I should never have gotten my hopes up. Fans of books are usually disappointed in on screen adaption of their favorite books. However, it is usually a level of disappointment that one can handle. A minor omission of a scene in Harry Potter; a slight change of part to adapt Lord of the Rings to a modern audience: all forgivable in time. As for Blood and Chocolate? They changed everything but the names and lycanthropy. Not only did they change ... Read the complete review

It didn't do to well at the box office but I think the main reason for that was because the trailers were promoting it as a werewolf action movie, where in my opinion it was more of a Romeo and Juliet type love story with some action scenes in it. Also from what I've heard the movie is based on a novel of the same name bu has obviously been changed in parts. The film is set in the beautiful city of Bucharest, Romania where one of ... I have just joined our local library and one of the cool things they offer is DVD rentals for either one or two pounds depending on the release date - now that is a lot cheaper than Blockbusters where we normally go and a lot cheaper too! One of the films I rented for only a pound to keep a week was 'Blood & Chocolate' which is a story about a nineteen year old American Girl who now lives in Bucharest, Romania since her family were killed ten years previously. It is advertised on the cover as 'a werewolf tale. A secret to keep. A legacy to defend'. Vivian played by Agnes Bruckner is one of a pack of ancient 'loup garoux' which are a ...
