Advantages: Cuba Gooding Jr, and a very funny movie.

Disadvantages: A bit homophobic some may feel, certainly very over the top.

My daughter's idea of a good movie and mine are very, very different but we do quite often get together for a DVD night when my hubby and hers are off playing snooker.

I almost always choose what we watch but the other night just to be fair I let my daughter choose and she chose the movie "Boat trip".

I had no idea what this movie was about and had never heard of it, it is not a new movie having been released back in 2003 but she had never seen it and always wanted to so watch it we did.

Cuba Gooding Jr. plays the starring role and I have to say I do like him and find him to be a funny guy, I have enjoyed him in a few movies especially in Snow Dogs. In this movie, Jerry (Cuba Gooding Jr) has just broken up with his rich girlfriend Felicia, he has asked her to marry him and she drops the bombshell that she has been sleeping with someone else and rejects him.

So heartbroken and down on his luck he most of his time at home mourning his loss until Nick who is his best friend decides they should take a cruise. This would give them the chance to get drunk and meet lots of drunk and up for it girls...... or so they think.

It turns out however that Nick has booked them on a gay cruise and the whole boat is full of gay men and this leads to a hilariously funny outcome as two friends try to deal with the situation they find themselves in.

This film is a complete send up of homosexual men, completely over the top and typically stereotyped but very, very funny and I would suggest that if you want a silly movie to sit and watch that will bring a smile to your face then you can't go far wrong with this one.
