Advantages: Keeps the children entertained

Disadvantages: None

My little boys seem to be getting quite a DVD collection, in fact they have more DVDs than my husband and I, featuring quite heavily in this collection is Bob the Builder. My eldest boy thinks he is getting a little old for Bob the Builder at the grand old age of 5 although every now and then he will choose to watch Bob instead of all the superhero's he now seems obsessed with.

I am not a big fan of childrens television and I only let my boys watch the TV once a day, usually when I am busy doing something so that I don't have to sit and watch it with them. One of my favourite kids programmes has got to be Bob the Builder though, if you sit and watch it it can be quite educational. Much better than something like the Power Ranger which seems to be full of fighting.

Bob's Big Plan DVD is one that I picked up from Woolworths for £4 about a year ago ( I miss Woolworths). It was fist released in 2005 on DVD and has one feature length story on which lasts about 20 minutes and 3 smaller stories which are about 10 minutes long.

In this DVD Bob is there with Wendy and the usual team, we also get to meet new members Benny and Scrambler. In the extended episode we follow Bob and his big plan to create Sunflower Valley, a place where Bob once played as a youngster. He wins the contract to build Sunflower Valley but in a different way, by promising to 'Reduce.... Re-use...Recycle' (a slogan that we hear many times in Bob the Builder)

The other 3 episodes featured in the DVD are Bob's Fresh Start, Lofty's Shelter and Dizzy and the Talkie Talkie. These are episodes taken from the first series Project Built It.

My boys have watched this DVD countless times, it amazes me how children never get bored with watching the same programmes over and over again. Another good DVD from Bob the Builder which does its job of keeping the children entertained.

Summary: Can we fix it?
