Boiling Point [1992] (DVD) ... released 25 August, 2003 at Pathe Distribution / Features of the DVD: PAL / Even a fine cast can't do much to breathe life into Boiling Point, a thin gangster piece starring Dennis Hopper as a pathetic small-timer trying to get ahead with one final score. The bad guys don't take him seriously, a cop (Wesley Snipes) is content to mow him down if necessary and a woman (Lolita Davidovich) who cares about him just wants him to settle down. Director James B Harris has the raw elements of a middling film noir in front of him, but he can't even link up the pieces enough to make Snipes and Hopper appear to be in the same movie. --Tom Keogh

James Harris directs this 1992 drama film BOILING POINT. The film centres around Red played by Dennis Hopper who has recently been released from prison. Red is an agreing scam artist looking to get back to his work. He joins up with the younger ex con Ronnie played by Viggo Mortensen with Red staring his own buisness. The business however is crooked with fake money and murder involved. On a botched job Ronnie kills an undercover agent. The agent's partner Jimmy Mercer played by Wesley Snipes only has a week before being transferred, but is hell bent in that week to find his friend's killers. The premise of the movie is excellent. Premium Review Nothing to Boil about (97 words)

This is certainly not one of the best movies that I have ever seen. Although 'Boiling Point' has all the right ingredients you get the feeling that the mixture is a little off. Wesley Snipes and Dennis Hopper both have reputations for cinematic intensity. And Lolita Davidovitch is sultry enough as Snipes's shady-lady love interest. But for some reason, the ingredients don't blend well enough. Perhaps it is because the film lacks enough overall script development to elevate it to big screen status. For me something just didn’t click with this film. ...  Read the complete review
