This is a fairly recently released to cinema movie. It is an animated Disney movie about a dog called Bolt. Bolt is an acting dog in a popular TV series of which he is the star. He is oblivious to a real life outside of filming and believes he has real super powers. He gets separated from his Human (Penny) and he has to get his way back to her, from one side of the country to the other. On his travels he learns a lot and makes a few unlikely new friends along the way (Mittens - a stray alley cat and Rhino a tubby hamster in a plastic ball).


The Main Characters

Bolt - voiced by John Travolta. He is a small white dog that believes he has super powers. He has been in this TV series as long as he can remember and knows nothing else, the director of the TV series believes this will get the best from him.

Penny - voiced by Miley Cyrus. She is a young girl, about 12 and is Bolt's human. She acts with Bolt in the TV series. When Bolt is missing, she is devastated.

Mittens - voiced by Susie Essman. Bolt meets her on his adventure back to Penny. Their friendship will blossom before your eyes as she teaches Bolt a thing or 2 about the real world.

Rhino - voiced by Mark Walton. Rhino is a tubby little hamster who lives in his plastic ball. He is a TV addict and meets Bolt and Mittens as they are making their way cross country. Rhino has seen Bolt on TV and believes that Bolt is the TV character with super powers. Rhino will join the pair in their quest.


My Opinion

This is a great family movie and will be enjoyed by all. My favourites were Mittens and Rhino, they are both funny characters with some good lines. This animation is bright and bold making it appealing to younger kids and the fact that Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) is in it, well that's what caught my daughter's attention. We both enjoyed this film and Will most likely buy the DVD. I would recommend it.

The movie lasts over an hour and a half and is rated as a PG.
