“Bowfinger” takes a look at the filmmaking industry in Hollywood from a insiders viewpoint, especially the ones who have made lots of bad films. Steve Martin plays the colourfully named Bobby Bowfinger, a one time child star. He is now a talent less producer who never made it big, but he lives in the hope that his big break is just around the corner. In fact he thinks he already has it in the form of a sci-fi action movie strangely titled “Chubby Rain”, which is about aliens who come to earth disguised as raindrops. He desperately needs a big studio to back the project, but Jerry Renfro (Robert Downey Jr) will only agree if the star of ... Read the complete review

This is a brilliantly funny movie that marks Steve Martin's reappearance in the movie industry. It is another huge Martin success with laughs appearing all of the time. The basic plot is that Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) is a failed Hollywood director until he finds a script that is to rescue his career. The only problem being he has no stars to appear in the movie and no money to pay any stars. This is where Eddie Murphy comes in. Murphy plays 2 parts in the film, a big Hollywood star called Kit and also he plays Kit's geeky brother. Bowfinger gets around the problem of not having a star in his movie by filming Kit and have his actors run up to Kit and say ... Read the complete review

Steve Martin wrote and stars in this improbable story of a director who attempts to make a movie around a superstar actor who doesn't know he is in it. The director, Bobby Bowfinger (Martin) creates scenes and plays them out with the unwitting Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) on the streets of Hollywood with cameras rolling.Basically the script was narcissistic with Martin writing himself a ticket to play a character only he could play. Ironically, though this was more or less the Steve Martin show, Eddie Murphy stole the entire movie. Once again, Murphy plays two completely divergent characters; superstar Kit Ramsey and his nerdy brother Jiff. While Martin attempts to be ... Read the complete review

===PLOT=== Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) is failed producer-director-actor, he tries to make great movie, but everything what he have done is also failed, he's run-down beginner exactly. One day one of his friends made a script and Bobby thought, that this is real masterpiece. But Bobby had to get Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) to his film, he talks to him, but Kit said no, bad answer for Bobby huh? Yes it is, but Bobby don't give up, he tries his luck and starts to follow him to finish his movie and using Kit's weird "brother" to finish his movie, but It's not so easy, that he first thought. Bobby also using other actors and actresses to finish his ... Read the complete review

Amongst the gross out comedies that hit it big in 1999 there was a comedy that didn't resort to that kind of humour and featured two great comedy performers together. That film was Bowfinger and while it was a modest hit it should have done better because it's a lot smarter than the likes of American Pie. Steve Martin plays Bobby Bowfinger, a film director who's on the Z-list of Hollywood. he has a few hangers on who want to get into movies, one day he reads a script from one of his hangers and really likes it. Now he has to get it made and after trying to get some big time producers interested he is fobbed off with an excuse that if her gets major ... Read the complete review
