Advantages: Stark look into American gun culture
Disadvantages: If anything, can be slightly Anti-American
This is a documentary film made by well known director Michael Moore, this time he goes into the depths of American gun crime based on the horrific shootings at columbine in the last 90's, a high school where hundreds were shot and numerous deaths occured.
I do believe there is some anti-america propaganda on this film but overall it's a stark look at a country which is still using a out of date constitution and it's gun crime.
There are numerous good points this film makes, especially regarding the NRA and Charlton Heston, as well as points such as, what need is there for a handgun in every day life.
The only possible need for a hand gun is to commit crime, rifles for shooting, although not for me is a fair need for a gun, it's a past time we shouldn't take away from the community but hand guns, ak's etc. are not useful for anything other than gun crime.
Before I ramble on even more I shall close up this review, with this film you need to lock out the Anti-Bush/American propaganda that comes with it, but it will give you a huge look at what life is actually like in America and why it is so different to many peoples communities, it asks you why if Canada can reduce gun crime, why cant the USA.
Summary: You'll be shocked if you watch this

- 16/06/09 I think you could say a bit more about how Moore tackles the issues - where does he go and who does he speak to throughout? You mention Charlton Heston, but you could expand on this. |
