A great slapstick horror with buckets of gore (Braindead (DVD))
Member Name: Burning_Darkness
Advantages: funny, great special effects, well made, immensely entertaining Disadvantages: None
Released in 1992, Peter Jackons's slapstick horror comedy 'Braindead' is generally considered to be one of the goriest films ever made. The story begins with a rare 'Sumatran Rat Monkey' that bites main protagonist Lionel Cosgrove (Timothy Balme)'s authoritarian mother when she gets too close to it at the local zoo, at which point she slowly turns into a flesh-hungry zombie. She escapes and goes on to murder the towns other inhabitants, all of whom return as zombies themselves, leading to a comiedic farce as Lionel tries to keep them all hidden away in his basement. Summary: A brilliant mix of over the top gore and daft comedy |
