Theres never been a film with so much gore. The story with a researcher and his guides on a strange island capturing a rat monkey for the zoo. (Apparently giant rats raped some monkeys and the rat monkey was born.) When the researcher gets scratched on the hand the guides pin him down and chop it off, when they spot a scratch on his arm, thats next for the chop, when they spot a scratch on his head.......
....the story cuts to Lionel, a Norman Bates type mummys boy, (but not really a physco.) Lionel lives for his mother and when he gets a date with Paquita, (a spanish girl whos grandmother predicts Lionel is cursed in some way,) his mother follows them to the zoo. Lionel and Pequita are getting on really well untill Lionel hears his mother scream. Shes been bitten by the rat monkey.
He takes her home and everything is normal, at first.
Lionels mother begins to get ill, with symptons you just have to see to beleive, puss is spewing from her arm, her face is falling off, untill Lionel GLUES it back, her ear fall off, (then she eats it,) and we even get to hear the line from Pequita "Your Mother Ate My Dog!!!"
Soon Lionels mother is dead, Lionel is devastated. But he hasn't time to mourn as he has problems when she sits up and attacks the nurse. Lionel now has two zombies running around the house. Eventerly he gets them under control and locked in the basement, but for how long........
Soon Lionel has a small army of zombies including a baby (the zombie reverend gets the zombie nurse pregnent and they have zombie baby,) that really has to be seen.
But the creatures are let of the basement during a party and you can guess the outcome.
You really have to see this film, where else can you see somebody take down a room full of zombies with a lawnmower? Its the most gore filled film I have ever seen, and is hillarious.
I wont spoil the end, but prepare to cry laughing.

- 04/08/02 good review, class film. "zin gai zin gai!" this film is sick, i watched once with about ten people in the room at the start, there was only 3 of us left at the end, and what an end it is. |

- 13/07/01 I actually saw this twice at the cinema (none of my mates would believe the ear in the custard bit - that nearly made me puke). Apart from the mother/dog bit, the classic moments have to be Father McGruder 'kicking arse for the Lord', and Lionel taking the baby to the park. Sickest film ever - its a shame Peter Jackson got all serious after this. |
