In a perfect world all sequels would be like this, but more than likely the sequel are no where near the first. But in the sequel to Stuart Gordons original Re-Animator that included a great story, great cast and superb effects. The sequel is just as much of a mix of gory horror and very black humour with well delivered lines of dialogue by the cast. It takes place only a short while after the first and brings back most of the main characters, like despite the tragic failures of his experiments in the first Herbert West (Jeffery Combs) is still trying to bring back dead tissue to life. But now he is trying to, not bring back dead people, bit create totally new life. He ... Read the complete review

Much more of the same in Bride Of Re-animator. The film starts with Doctor Hills Head stating "West, I'll get you, you bastard." And sets then tone for a slightly humouros sequal. West has decided to build himself a woman from scratch. So the stealing of body parts begins. For gore fans, this was a bit of a let down! It's got all the old crew in it, with Herbert as devious as ever (stealing bodies from the hospital so he can use body parts to make his perfect woman) and his lovely side kick whose name I can't remember. It's as yucky and silly as Re-Animator - body parts being reanimated by themselves and running around causing trouble and awkard times. The ending is of course tragic (for Herbert anyway) as his recomposed and reanimated bride (the head taken from someone Herbert's buddy had a thing for) works fine for a bit - then goes a bit doo-lally. Her body parts fall off all over the place, lots of goo and blood oozing ... Read the complete review

Otherwise known as Re-animator 2 in the UK, this film is a little bit of a let-down after the brilliance of Re-animator. It's a continuation from the first film, and again stars Herbert West reviving the dead, but this time he's wanting to create his own perfect woman using body parts from various women. It's funny, gory and very watchable, but the plot leaves a little to be desired, being fairly messy and full of holes. The acting is quality though (with a lot of the actors from the first film returning), the effects are brilliant and th directing is also very good. Overall, well worth watching, especially for fans of ther first film, but don't ... Read the complete review
