Advantages: Bridget jones is so funny

Disadvantages: some of the twists are just too unbelieveable

Bridget Jones 2: The Edge of Reason is a romantic comedy, released in 2004, and is based on the novel of the same name by Heln Fielding. It is the sequel to the 2001 hit Briget Jones Diary. It is directed by Beeban Kidron and sees leads Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant reprise their roles as Bridget Jones, Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver respectively.

*Synopsis*
Bridget Jones, the 30-something, chain smoking, too-much alcohol drinking woman is back but this time she is excited to cross off single from her resume. She of course is dating Mark Darcy, the rich upper class human rights lawyer-a fact that she can't help reminding her co-workers of. But as she falls deeper in love with Mark her mind is filled with parinoid thoughts; Is Mark cheating on her with the slim, beautiful lawyer Rebecca? And when the dashing cad Daniel Cleaver makes a disasterious reapperance in Bridget already hectic life, will Bridget ever get her happily ever after?

*My Opinon*
I loved Bridget Jones Diary and when the sequel came out in 2004 I remember me and a group of mates rushing to the cinema to watch it. Renee Zellweger was brilliant as loveable yet happless Bridget who every single woman has to relate to at some point of the film, and once more much of the comedy was slapstick and usually aimed at Bridget but she shruggs of her embaressment with unparelled ease that is a talent I wish that I could have.

However, the film does drift away from the plot of the book so any fans who expect it to be a parellel of the 1999 novel will be dissapointed. Grant and Firth are good in their roles of the womanizing ex and the stuffy yet noble boyfriend who usually seems to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. However as Shakespeare once said The course of true love never did run smooth.
