Great film starring Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku (Wrong Turn and Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Not a film you'd expect to find Eliza Dushku in, but she plays the role brilliantly. The Plot The film is about a cheerleading squad from a High School in SandDeiego who are determined to win the national championship trophy. After all, they had for the past five years. When their captain leaves school for college Torrance (Kirsten Dunst) is made the new captain. However, she soon finds out that their former captain had stolen all of their routines from 'the clovers', another cheerleading squad from East Compton. So its down to Torrance to think up a new ... Peyton Reed has made a career out of rewriting tired scripts to say something new: Down With Love was a fantastically clever feminist reworking of 1950s Doris Day style movies; The Break Up is a more realistic, modern version of the rom com. However, the director's first feature, Bring it On doesn't bring the same interesting genre twist to the sports picture. I should note, I'm not adverse to teen movies, and not everything I watch must be stunningly original or high-brow (far from it). If all you're after is some mindless entertainment, then Bring It On is a reasonable example of the teen-comedy genre, and will probably suffice. Watching it on TV a while ago, however, my flatmate and I were so struck by the number of cliches invoked (almost every one in the book) that we began checking them off. Let’s see: [x] Outsider that doesn’t quite fit in – goth/grungey girl Missy. [x] Makeover reveals above to be really beautiful – joins cheerleaders. [x] Annoying older and/or younger brother – in this case ... Read the complete review

When I want to watch a movie of nothing but fun I put on the first DVD I ever bought. ?Bring it on?. This film never fails to put a smile on my face because it?s just plain and simply, fun on film. I was born an American but raised a Brit. My mother was a cheerleader and she tells me fabulous tales of cheering for the football team. God she knows how to make me jealous, as I would have loved to have been a cheerleader! They don?t even exist in this country! Not fair! Oh well what can I do? Well just watch ?Bring it on? of course, at least I can see how cool it looks to be a ... Read the complete review
