Those that have seen the latest Jim Carey Comedy flik, Bruce Almighty will understand my title to this opinion, others read and learn...

I was at work on Friday and the day was dragging on and on so on my break I decided to treat myself and the partner to 2 ODEON tickets to see 'BRUCE ALMIGHTY' on its day of release. We had both really been looking forward to the movie and I knew my partner would love the surprise. So off we went to see Jim Carey's supposedly funniest ever film...

The by - far main character and most famous actor in the movie Jim Carey, is an amazing actor who can make most people laugh for hours on end. I find him incredible especially in some of his most famous movies such as DUMB AND DUMBER, THE ACE VENTURA MOVIES and THE CABLE GUY. He has an amazing talent which people enjoy watching on the big screen. This new film has high expectations by just about every Jim Carey fan or anyone that enjoys comedy. I walked into the cinema with my hopes high.....maybe too high!!!

Everyone thinks the film is going to be absolutely amazing and do not get me wrong here, the film is great but I expected too much and from doing that I walked out of the cinema thinking the film was not as good as what I had thought it would have been. (Hope you understood that, it was a little confusing!!!) All I am trying to say is, expect a decent comedy that will make you laugh with an outstanding performance by all actors, especially Jim Carey but don't think it is going to be the best film you will ever see in your life as the nation seems to be telling everyone!!

Going back to my title, B-E-A-UTIFUL. This is pronounced BEE - EEE - AYY - UTIFUL! (If you get that!!??) This is the saying or catchphrase that Jim Carey uses throughout the movie and he uses it at the best times which really adds more humour to his character!

The story itself is rather good, it has a good plot which most comedy movies lack. The plot was a
lot better than what I thought it would be. I am useless at writing about movie plots as I give away too much for everyone who has not seen the movie so this is my best attempt at giving a brief stroyline...

Jim Carey is an eye-witness news reporter working for a firm in Buffalo County. He is called Bruce Nolan and has a wonderful and beautiful wife, Grace who is played by Jennifer Aniston (Rachel from FRIENDS) The story begins when a fellow colleage at work retires and Bruce thinks all his prayers have been answered as he wants to go for this job. Unfortunately rival colleage - Bruces biggest enemy gets the job instead and Bruce decides that God must have it in for him.

Bruces miserable life continues as his pager will not stop bleeping with mysterious numbers and in the end everything resolves in Bruce meeting God. God decides to let Bruce be him for a while to prove how hard it can be, pleasing everyone and being God. Although Bruce does not believe this man is god (Played by Morgan Freeman) he soon realises that God really has given him omnipotent power.


The story then continues with Bruce Nolan secretly acting as God to the world. The story consists of many funny moments, touching moments and interesting moments as Bruce's life continues much happier than what it was before.....?

The stroy is pleasant and I'm sure all will enjoy it. The characters are the extra little bit to the film though...

JIM CAREY

We all love Mr.Carey to pieces but is this really his best ever film?! It is close and I'm not too sure but i will let you all make you own minds up about that one! Jim Carey is amazing acting Bruce Nolan in this film and his main character is what makes the audience laugh non-stop. One thing you will notice though is how old Mr.Carey is looking nowadays. That does not affect his humour though!! (So all is good!) Jim Carey definitely a 10/10 for this one!

JENNIFER ANISTON

>This is probably the biggest film Mrs Brad Pitt has ever starred in and she did well for herself! Working alongside Jim Carey must have been an experince for her and she acted really well as Grace during the movie. Her character has patience, intelligence and beauty which made the on-screen couple so cute and adorable! I hate to be a moaner but Jennifer Aniston was also showing her age alike Mr.Carey in this film. However, Mrs Brad Pitt is so stunning who really cares how old she looks!? Jennifer Aniston really deserves at least an 8/10 for her performance.

MORGAN FREEMAN

The well known actor has a main character in this film but only appears every few scenes, his witty and humourous character as God is funny to watch and you can see he enjoys playing the holy man! Mr Freeman made me laugh in this film and he really added that extra bit that was needed, the control over Jim Carey! I do not think I have ever seen someone controlling Jim Carey in other films but God has to control him in this flik! Morgan Freeman recieves about 8/10 for this flik for me.

LISA ANN WALTER

Ms.Walter, I am led to believe plays a colleage of Mr Carey's (Bruce Nolan) who tries to take advantage of the poor man when he becomes world wide famous for his amazing news reports. She is a strong character although not a main one. She is witty and sexy which adds that extra spice to the movie!! Lisa Ann Walter gets about a 6/10 at least from me.

THE DOG

Watch out for the little mongel in the film, he is sooooo funny! (Sorry, cannot remember his name!!) Definitely a main character for me and defo a 10/10!!!

OVERALL THOUGHTS...

This film is worth a watch but as I said do not expect to much from one movie. The storyline is good and the characters are superb, the humour is pleasant, what else could you ask for in a comedy starring Jim Carey!? The film does contain a nice soppy part for all those out there that enjoy that!? The
film has everything it needs. One complaint though and I will warn you all now, the funniest parts to the movie were in the trailors at the cinema and on TV!! That annoyed me as although I found the movie funny, I had already seen the best bits! I am not trying to put you off this movie though, believe me it is worth a watch!

NITTY GRITTY...

The film itself has a certificate of 12A meaning you have to be over 12 years of age or with an adult I am led to believe. I think most ages can watch this film, I would say anyone from 10 years of age to retirement stage! There is humour for everyone! There are a couple of small sexual scenes, I remember seeing Jennifer Aniston or Grace as she is known in the film have a orgasm in the bathroom! (Thanks to God's magical powers!) The film is directed by Tom Shadyac who I have never heard of before! The film is 1hr 41mins long which was not too long neither too short! Most people think the film is a pure comedy but the genre is actually a Romantic Comedy. The film came out on Friday the 26th June so hurry along and get a ticket!

Overall, this film is brilliant, a pleasant comedy with some great actors in it! If this isn't your kind of thing then wait till the movie comes out on video but believe me this film WILL make you ALL laugh!!
